Compass was founded in 2007 with the purpose of challenging the church to meet the needs of children and youth in the foster care system. As followers of Christ, we are motivated by compassion and a heart to serve the least of these. Compass first supported host families who came alongside teenagers as they traveled the path to adulthood. We then began to support foster families as they cared for children of all ages. In 2010, we started providing services to hurting families from hard places. These families may be fractured by poverty, substance abuse, domestic violence, chemical dependency, homelessness, or a myriad of other challenges. Providing supervised visitation and family support services to biological families enables them to confront the issues impacting the stability and health of their families.

Today, Compass has over 40 dedicated staff serving nearly 150 children and families each and every day. We partner with individuals, families and churches throughout Central and Western Nebraska to help families experience growth and success. Compass is committed to children, centered on families and connected to the community. We are grateful for God’s provision over the last 10 years and look forward to serving Nebraska’s kids in the decades to come.
