Helping Children and Families Navigate Life
FAMILY SPECIALIST
About Me:
Ellen grew up with SIX older siblings and was the baby of the family by 10 years. She received her Bachelor’s in Sociology and Psychology from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and then spent a span of years at home with her own children, who are now ages 7-23. Between their biological and adoptive children, Ellen and her husband, Neil, are parents to a sibling group of 9!
Ellen’s own experience as a foster parent led her to pursue a career in family services. She remembered the caring individuals who had helped her family navigate the foster care system and she wanted to help other families as well. She is passionate about healing childhood trauma and learning strategies to improve outcomes for kids and families.
When she isn’t busy working at Compass, Ellen can be found making scrapbooks for her 9 children and taking care of her chickens.
