Elle Ostrander
Foster Care Specialist
If you ask Elle what she hopes people feel when they interact with her, the answer is simple: calm and safe. She believes there’s something powerful about creating space for people to let their guard down, take a deep breath, and know they’re not alone. Whether she’s offering support, encouragement, or simply listening, Elle wants people to feel seen, valued, and cared for.
Elle joined Compass because of its Christ-centered mission and the opportunity to live out her faith through her work. She feels blessed to be part of an organization that shares her values and allows her to serve others while keeping the Lord at the center of everything she does.
Before joining the foster care team, Elle served as a Family Specialist for nine months, building relationships with families and helping them navigate challenges. She graduated from the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a minor in Family Science, equipping her with a strong foundation for the work she loves.
Helping people is at the heart of who Elle is. She finds joy in being someone others can count on during difficult seasons and loves seeing people overcome obstacles, grow, and find hope along the way.
When she’s not at Compass, you can usually find her traveling, spending time with family, curled up with a good book, or snuggling her cats. (She proudly embraces her title as a cat mom!)
One verse that especially inspires Elle is 1 Peter 3:8, which calls believers to be compassionate, humble, loving, and understanding. It reflects the way she strives to treat others every day and aligns closely with the personal motto she lives by: “Treat people like Jesus died for them.”
