Why Become a Respite Provider?
Respite providers are like the aunts, uncles, grandparents, or family friends of foster care. You offer a safe and enjoyable place for children to stay temporarily, allowing foster parents to rest and recharge. Your role is crucial in maintaining the stability and security of the foster care system.
Respite care plays a vital role in the foster care system. By stepping in, even for a short time, you help:

Care may last a few hours, overnight, a few days to a week. Even short-term care can make a lasting difference.
Who can Become a Respite Provider?
You don’t need to be a full-time foster parent to make a meaningful impact.
You may be a good fit if you are:

An individual or couple (ages 19+)

A current foster parent (if applicable)

An adult who can meet licensing and approval requirements (Background checks, home requirements, training completion, etc.)

Someone who enjoys working with children and creating a safe, supportive environment
