Abby Minturn
Foster Care Specialist
Abby hopes that everyone she interacts with feels genuinely cared for and seen. She believes that taking time to listen, encourage, and walk alongside others can make a meaningful difference, and she strives to create an environment where people feel valued, supported, and loved.
What first drew Abby to Compass was the organization's commitment to faith. She saw a team that wasn't just talking about Christ but intentionally seeking to represent Him and live out His love in everything they do. That dedication to serving others through a Christ-centered mission resonated deeply with her and made Compass a place she wanted to be.
Before joining Compass, Abby spent more than five years serving children and families in Kids Ministry, where she developed a passion for supporting and encouraging families through every season of life. She is currently completing her Bachelor's Degree in Crisis Psychology through Liberty University, further equipping her to serve individuals and families with compassion, understanding, and care.
At the heart of Abby's work is a passion for helping people find healing. She believes true and lasting healing is ultimately found in Jesus, and she feels called to walk alongside others as they navigate challenges, experience growth, and discover hope.
Outside of Compass, Abby loves spending time with her husband and children and enjoys just about anything that gets her outdoors. Whether she's making memories with her family or enjoying time in nature, she values opportunities to connect with the people she loves most.
One of Abby's favorite Bible verses is Ephesians 2:5: "Even when we were dead in our trespasses, [God] made us alive together with Christ - by grace you have been saved." This verse is especially meaningful to her because it captures the heart of the Gospel. It serves as a reminder that salvation is not something we earn through our own efforts, but a gift of God's mercy and grace. Abby finds great hope and freedom in the truth that God brings life, redemption, and restoration - not because of our performance, but because of His unfailing love.
Through her faith, compassion, and commitment to serving others, Abby seeks to point people toward hope, healing, and the life-changing grace of Jesus Christ.
