Alisa Ryan

Clinical Director

Alisa hopes that everyone she interacts with feels valued, safe, and encouraged to do hard things. She believes healing and growth often require courage, and she strives to create a supportive space where people feel seen, strengthened, and reminded that they are capable of more than they may realize.

What drew Alisa to Compass was the heart of the team. She saw people who truly care about helping others - not because it is simply a job, but because it is a calling. She also values the opportunity to bring faith into her work and encourage others through the hope and truth found in Christ.

Alisa brings a wide range of education, training, and professional experience to her work. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Family Studies, a Master’s Degree in Community Counseling, and is a Licensed Mental Health Practitioner. She has additional training in CBT, DBT, ADHD, Christian counseling, clinical supervision, EMDR, and trauma. Her experience includes serving as Director of Foster Care for 10 years, working as a therapist at Richard Young Hospital for more than five years, serving as a Foster Care Supervisor at Boys Town for five years, and working as an IFP therapist.

At the heart of Alisa’s work is a passion for helping others heal and recognize the value of their own purpose and journey. She loves walking alongside people as they grow, overcome challenges, and begin to see themselves and their future with hope.

Outside of Compass, Alisa enjoys baking, camping, reading, and attending her boys’ sporting events. Whether she is cheering from the sidelines, spending time outdoors, or enjoying a quiet moment with a good book, she values time spent with family and the simple joys that bring balance to life.

One of Alisa’s favorite Bible verses is Romans 12:2, which reminds believers not to conform to the patterns of the world, but to be transformed by the renewing of their minds. This verse is meaningful to her because it points to the hope that God has so much more for us than the stress and worries of everyday life. It reminds her to keep her focus on God’s will, His purpose, and the transformation He makes possible.

Through her faith, clinical experience, and heart for helping others heal, Alisa is passionate about encouraging people to move forward with courage, hope, and confidence in who God created them to be.
