Cheri hopes that every person she interacts with feels accepted, heard, and loved. She believes that everyone deserves to feel safe, supported, and valued, especially during life's most challenging moments. Through compassion, empathy, and genuine care, she strives to create meaningful connections that help others feel encouraged and understood.
As a follower of Jesus, Cheri was drawn to Compass because of its mission to serve and support people in times of need. She appreciates the opportunity to be part of an organization that lives out its faith through action and shares her desire to care for others with dignity, compassion, and hope.
Cheri brings a wealth of experience and a servant's heart to her work. She earned her Bachelor of Social Work with a minor in Gerontology from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and later completed her Master of Social Work through the University of Nebraska at Omaha. For 37 years, she served in the senior living industry, spending much of that time supporting individuals living with Alzheimer's disease and dementia. Walking alongside older adults and their families through difficult seasons was both a privilege and a joy, and it strengthened her passion for caring for those in need.
Throughout her career, Cheri has also developed a love for supporting leaders and helping organizations thrive. Her experience in leadership roles has given her valuable insight into encouraging, equipping, and serving others in ways that create lasting impact.
Outside of Compass, Cheri enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her family. Whether exploring new places, getting lost in a good book, or making memories with loved ones, she values opportunities to connect with the people and experiences that bring joy and meaning to life.
At the heart of everything Cheri does is a desire to be the hands and feet of Jesus. She is passionate about serving others with love, grace, and compassion, reflecting Christ's care in both everyday interactions and life's significant moments.
One of Cheri's favorite Scripture passages is Isaiah 66:1-2, which reminds believers of God's greatness, sovereignty, and His special care for those who are humble and dependent on Him. This passage encourages Cheri to keep her focus on the Lord, walk humbly in faith, and remember that God values a heart that seeks Him above all else.
Through her faith, decades of experience, and genuine love for people, Cheri is committed to supporting and encouraging others while reflecting the compassion and hope of Christ.
