Kaiden Van Schuyver

Family Specialist

Kaiden hopes that people feel met with compassion, understanding, and peace when they interact with him. He values meeting people where they are and creating space for them to feel heard, supported, and encouraged as they navigate life’s challenges.

Kaiden was drawn to Compass because of its faith-based mission and the opportunity to serve as the hands and feet of Christ in a world deeply in need of hope. He sees this work as both humbling and grace-filled, and he desires to help those who need it most by being an instrument of God’s healing, care, and compassion.

Kaiden graduated from Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas, in 2024 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. During his time there, he worked with the National Alliance on Mental Illness, also known as NAMI, where he supported mental health advocacy efforts across 21 counties in northwest Kansas. Since moving to Nebraska, he has continued pursuing his passion for mental health by working toward his Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

Kaiden is especially passionate about mental health advocacy and walking alongside individuals in the midst of their struggles. He believes in meeting people where they are, helping them move through difficult seasons, and supporting them as they work toward comfort, healing, and well-deserved rest.

Outside of Compass, Kaiden enjoys spending time with friends, playing the organ for his church, hosting dinner parties, going on walks, golfing, and exploring the parks around Kearney. He also grew up loving the outdoors and staying active, whether through basketball, baseball, cross country, track and field, or summer memories spent with his grandparents and cousins.

One of Kaiden’s favorite passages of Scripture is Psalm 51. As a Catholic Christian, this psalm reminds him of the importance of humility, repentance, and the ongoing need for a Savior. It reflects a central part of his faith: the continual process of conversion and allowing God’s mercy to shape the heart.

Through his faith, passion for mental health, and desire to serve others with compassion, Kaiden hopes to bring encouragement, healing, and peace to the individuals and families he serves.
