Get My Church Involved

At Compass, we bring a Christ-centered approach to the mission field of foster care. We would love to help you create a church environment where the church wraps around the whole family: foster children, biological parents and foster parents. Compass would love to partner with your church family to share awareness of this mission, opportunities to get involved, and what it looks like to become a foster family.  Here are some of the ways we can assist your church: 

Growing Church Awareness

• 1 minute video about our mission during announcements
• Information booth before and/or after services
• 3–5 minute presentation during the service
• Presenting information to small groups

Opportunities to Get Involved

• Provide a Respite Care training class
• Host a Foster Parent Night Out event
• Start a support group for current foster families in your church
• Provide meals for current foster families

Compass can help with 

• Training to ministry volunteers on the effects of childhood trauma
• Guidance in navigating bio- and foster-family relationships with compassion

Answering your Church’s Questions

• Host a Foster Parent Information Event; a no-pressure setting where families can learn what it looks like to become a Compass foster home
