Helping Children and Families Navigate Life
Family Specialist
About Me:
When Allison was a child, she spent a lot of time playing outdoors with her family and friends. She loved playing softball and basketball for her church and school.
Allison’s family includes her parents, brother, sister, sister-in-law, her nephew, and her sweetheart dog Zarah. She also considers her four best friends and her boyfriend to be friends that turned into a different kind of family over time.
She has always known she’s wanted to work for kids or families in some way. Allison went to the University of Nebraska – Kearney and studied Elementary Education for three years before switching to General Studies – as she felt called to work with children and families outside of the classroom. In addition to General Studies, she pursued Family Studies and Psychology and graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree. She has worked in childcare and has had many years of experience working in classrooms and other education settings.
Allison joined our Compass team after volunteering for us during her senior year of college. It was then when she felt that Compass truly made a difference in the community, and anyone she spoke to about regarding Compass shared such positive experience. She’s felt that Compass has been welcoming and has passionate staff that are setting her up for success to help guide her to truly helping families on a deeper level.
When Alison isn’t working, you can find her spending time with her loved ones, painting, taking on a DIY project, watching a good tv series, or being outside.
